Indira was born in India to a family of Russian/Polish artists.

Chris Marker considered her first short Childhood Amnesia to be a "fine response" to his cult film La Jetée  and integrated it into his art website www.gorgomancy.net.

Childhood Amnesia was broadcast on French national TV and screened at the Pompidou Centre (Europe’s largest museum for modern art) alongside La Jetée.

Indira has since directed a trilogy mixing together filmed images, photos, drawings and music (which she also composes for her films) with her allegorical tales based on common themes of memory, perception and the imperceptible.
